Patient Coordinator Services


Madeline Maldonado, M.P.H., B.H.E.



Madeline Maldonado, M.P.H., B.H.E., Certified in Gerontology, is the Patient Coordinator of the RCMI-Clinical Research Center. She provides regular units coverage from 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. She is responsible for scheduling the subjects for the research-related appointments; her goal is to facilitate the participation of the subjects in the clinical studies in collaboration with the research staff and the investigators. The patient coordinator works closely with the nursing staff in order to assure patient contact and adequate follow-up.



The Patient's Coordinator Services also includes:

  • Explain to the Principal Investigators the requirements needed to prepare the promotional ads for newspaper and radio.
  • Assist coordinators and investigators designing data collection forms.
  • Develop questionnaires used for the screen phone calls
  • Explaining the patients study including the inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Conducts pre-screening and screening of possible participants for clinical studies.
  • Assign appointments to research participants and follow-up it.
  • Screen telephone referrals during the recruitment period and maintain a close communication with the investigators to keep them well oriented about the status of the clinical study screening.
  • Schedule appointments to separate examination, procedures and infusion room.
